What I love most about my home is who I share it with

“Because I'm happy”, Pharrell Williams sings, “Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof”.
I'm sort of dancing while sitting on my chair by my desk, hopping up and down, tapping my feet. It's such a contageous song (look it up, on youtube, Spotify, iTunes....  You must, if you haven't heard it yet!)
Meantime I am working on a creation, one that involves, oh yes, feeling happy :-) And rooms, only with a roof ;-) Look, here it is:

A while ago I bought a beautiful sign in a local store. It has this text on it. When I spotted it, I had to buy it to give to the people I share my home with.

They make me feel happy, every day 

I feel blessed that they are around. 

So now the sign is on the wall in our kitchen, where we eat, talk, drink our cups of coffee (or tea).
A little reminder of our happiness.Whenever I look at it, I can't help but think: “yes, I do indeed”.

How about you? Are the people you share your home with the best about that home too? Have you told them lately, that you care about them, that you love them? Call me sentimental, but I feel that it is something we don't do enough. We think about it, but the times we actually say it out loud are few.

“They do know I love them,” you may say. “I don't need to say that every time.”
Well, they maybe do know indeed. Still, just think of this: if someone actually says those words out loud, “you mean a lot to me”, that's a special feeling, isn't it?

Ik zit een soort van te dansen op mijn bureaustoel, hip op en neer op mijn billen, tik met mijn voeten op het ritme. Het is zo een aanstekelijk liedje (zoek het alsjeblieft op, youtube , Spotify , iTunes .... echt, het moet, als je het nog niet hebt gehoord!)

Ondertussen ben ik bezig met een creatie, eentje over, oh ja, je gelukkig voelen :-) En kamers, alleen met een dak ;-) Kijk, deze:

"Het mooiste aan mijn huis zijn de mensen met wie ik het deel"

Een tijdje geleden kocht ik een mooi bord hier in Amersfoort. Daar staat deze tekst op. Toen ik het zag, moest ik gewoon het kopen om te geven aan de mensen met wie ik mijn huis deel.

Ze maken me gelukkig, elke dag. 

Ik voel me rijk, omdat ze er zijn.

Dus nu hangt het bord aan de wand in onze keuken, waar we eten, praten, onze kopjes koffie (of thee) drinken.

Een kleine herinnering aan ons geluk. Elke keer dat ik er naar kijk, denk ik toch weer: " ja, dat is inderdaad zo".

Hoe zit het met jou? Zijn de mensen met wie jij je huis deelt ook het mooiste aan jouw huis? Heb je ze onlangs nog verteld dat je om ze geeft, dat je van ze houdt? Noem me sentimenteel, maar ik vind dat het iets is dat we niet genoeg doen. We denken het, maar de keren dat we het daadwerkelijk hardop zeggen zijn schaars.

"Ze weten dat ik van ze hou," zal je zeggen." Ik hoef het niet elke keer te zeggen."

Weet je, misschien weten ze het inderdaad wel. Alleen, als je eens bedenkt dat iemand werkelijk hardop zegt: "Ik geef heel veel om jou", dat is een speciaal gevoel, toch?

" Clap along if you know what hapiness is to you."  "Klap met me mee als je weet wat geluk voor jou betekent." Ik klap mee hoor, oh ja. Jij ook? Alsjeblieft, zoek het liedje op. Het is zo'n goede remedie tegen een sombere stemming, een regenachtige dag.

Deze creatie kan dat ook zijn. Als een kleine herinnering aan wat maakt je gelukkig maakt.
